(New Exclusive Interview) Music Artist Elluna Talks Her Career And Her New Single
1. Elluna, how long have you been doing music?
I have been doing music for over the past 10 years.
2. Elluna, breakdown your style and sound?
My sound is definitely R&B/Soul based when it comes to my vocals, but my writing is very intellectual and inspiring. I incorporate my love for hip hop in my writing, but as far as my beats I would say it's a combination of electronic and trap music. I really love that big ambient sound.
3. Elluna, what part do you play within the Arizona music scene?
I started performing out here two years ago and was immediately involved in the hip hop scene being as it is huge out here. Anyone and almost everyone knows who I am due to the fact that I do a lot of features for rap artists out here. I'm pretty much the go to singer out here lol.
4. Elluna, what was the hardest thing you had to deal with in life and how did you deal with it?
The hardest thing I've had to deal with in life is becoming independent. I moved out of my parents house a year and a half ago and pretty much dove into reality head first. I've definitely faced a lot of hurdles, but overtime I learned that patience is a must when it comes to independency and also I've learned to really value the little things in life. I don't look at life as a constant struggle, I look at life as a consistent opportunity to do better not only for myself, but for others and the things that surround me.
5. Elluna, you just dropped a crazy video for your single "Predators." what were the pro's and con's of shooting that video?
Thank you so much. This video has definitely been a dream come true... This is my first music video by the way lol. Their were definitely a lot of struggles shooting this as far as the money I invested into this project from driving to these locations, the expenses for the props, etc. It was also difficult at the time due to my financial situation, I was employed through a company as a temp and did not know when my assignment was going to end (I would be out of a job) so I was trying to save as much money as possible in between, but I ended up losing it anyways so that was really tough...luckily at that point Predators was pretty much wrapped up. I am blessed that me and Epidemic Media were able to bring this song to life. He has been trying to shoot this for a year now and I am so grateful we were able to put this all together minus all the struggles.
6. Elluna, what is the concept behind this video and how did it come about?
Well, this song is very powerful. When I wrote this, it was originally about some bad relationships that I was involved in, but when me and Louie (Epidemic Media) got together he shared his ideas for the visual and I shared mine. We were originally aiming for a domestic/emotional relationship type concept, but as time went on I came up with some bigger ideas as far as expressing the negative situations that are going on in our world. It was really important to shed some light on that because I feel like that is not expressed enough in music.
7. Elluna, who are some main stream artist you want to work with and what type of record would you create with them?
Their are a lot of artists that I look up to for example Christina Aguilera has been an influence of mine since I was little. She is a real inspiration to me not only as a singer, but being a woman as well. I would love to do something really laid back and jazzy with her being that's her style. Other artist i'd love to work with would be The Weeknd, Drake, Beyonce, Jhene Aiko, and Tove Lo.
8. Elluna, where do you see your brand and career in the next 5 years?
, I really don't have a lot of expectations when it comes to my career anymore because I am so appreciative of any opportunity that comes my way. I would love to have worked with some pretty big artists and tour around the world and have a big enough following where I can start a positive movement and have my fans be a part of that weather it be a record label, or a charity something that I can involve my fans in and really try to create a difference in the world. That is all I want to do.
